The Kerala Museum, managed by the Madhavan Nayar Foundation, is a dynamic cultural institution that fosters interactive and experiential learning in art and history. Through diverse public programs, workshops, and collaborations, the museum serves as a platform for social change and community engagement. As the Programme Lead, my role encompasses curation, event planning, audience engagement, and fostering partnerships to create meaningful cultural experiences.
Context & Objective
The Kerala Museum aims to function as more than just a repository of historical artifacts—it seeks to be an active space for dialogue, learning, and artistic expression based on the idea “Museum as a tool for social change”. The objective of my role is to curate and manage a range of public programs that align with this vision. This includes the 'Janal' talk series on Kerala’s history, art and design workshops, reading room events, film festivals, gender awareness events and children’s workshops.
These initiatives are designed to enhance cultural literacy, encourage interdisciplinary discourse, and provide accessible learning experiences for diverse audiences.
